A Brief History
Established in 1995, Club Swan Golf (original Club name) was founded by
employees of the Swan Brewery in Canning Vale on a two tee nine hole golf
course adjacent to the brewery that was designed and maintained by the
inaugural members. Unfortunately, the course temporarily closed in 2000
forcing the club to relocate to Rosehill golf course in the middle of the year.
The club returned to the Swan Brewery course in 2001 but this was short-
lived as a member influx meant the 9-hole course couldn’t cater to all
members. The decision was made to relocate again, this time to Hillview in
2001 where we remain today. Since 2005, Swan Vale has seen a steady
increase of members allowing us to have a 2 tee start Saturday mornings.
Recently we have grown to around 90 members with an average group of
over 45 players every fixture. Competitions and social events are held
throughout the entire year.

OUR 2026 COMMITTEE

President - Dave Mattock
Cricket fanatic Dave Mattock is back for his 4th year in the top job for a total of 6 years on the Committee. The Wolfman kicked off the year in style by winning the first event of the season, The Champion of Champions but that was the last we saw of him. The big power fading lefty matchplay specialist will be looking for a big season in 2026.
Vice President - Peter Evans
83 years young and still leading by example for his 15th year on the committee in a variety of roles. This will be Pugwash’s 26th season at SVGC who was made a lifemember in 2018. It was one of Pete’s best years as he got 2 wins including the Committee Cup at Hamersley GC. Pete organises the trophies and has been Club Person of the Year 3 times

Captain - Ric Littlefair
The retired softballer will lead us for a 3rd straight year on matchdays in only his 7th year at the club. Captain Spud has been Club Person of the Year and a 2 time Player of the Year but 2025 was one to forget. Ric will look to bounce back in 2026 and get that wild swing under control.
Vice Captain - Kevin Brimblecombe
A rookie on the committee but not on the course with Kevin jumping straight into the Vice Captains role. This 5 time club champion will try to keep Ric in check while doing his thing on the golf course with swing adjustment 124 or 125. Whatever number it is, this guy has been by far our most consistent over the last 3 years and will be scary dangerous if he can start hitting fairways.

Treasurer - Ray Smith
We welcome back Ray Smith after a year off and he’ll take a new role as the money man. Raymondi will be serving his 14th year on the committee who now has a bunch of different positions which is no wonder he was made a life member in 2021. It was a quiet year for Ray on the course until a surprise B Grade Nett Runner Up at our Club Champs.
Secretary - Karen Spinks
One of Swan Vale’s darlings returns to the Secretary role which she filled when no one else would last year. This person is hard to miss as she regularly dresses very bright and colourful in a number of onesies. Kaz will suit up for her 4th year on the committee and will look to dominate the Par events that she has done in the past.

Handicapper - Jodie Thompson
The role left big shoes to fill but there is no one better than JT who will be on the committee for a 15th time. Jodie was honoured with life membership in 2017 having been at the club since 2000. Thommo will look to continue her amazing finish to 2025 which saw her finish high on the leaderboard in many trophies and did earn her a 3rd C Grade Nett Club Championship
Ladies Rep. - Jan Pearson
Jan Pearson returns to the Ladies Rep position for an 8th time for her 9th year on the committee in 18 years at SVGC. Jan will once again head up the social committee in 2026. Jan got injured early in the year so 2025 was not a great year on the course but the year ended with a bang as she was made a life member of the club.

General Committee - Brad Holberton
Brad returns to the committee for a second year where he brings the colourful shirts. Brad's year started poorly due to some blurry vision but took out the John O’Neil Trophy in April out of nowhere. Consistency is not at the top of Brad’s strengths but this big slugger is a great team player who has seen every inch of this course.
General Committee - Dave Turner
Returning for his 4th season on the committee in 7 years at the club is Dave Turner. The matchplay specialist only played half the season last year but peaked at the right time, taking out the B Grade Nett Club Champion and 6th overall for the top prize. DT has been our sponsorship coordinator for the lst couple of seasons.

General Committee - Linda Rankine
Linda joins the committee for the first time and has been a member of the club for 5 years now. Linda took up the game of golf in 2021 and had a hole in 1 on the signature Par 3, 8th at Meadow Springs by the end of the year. Linda started with a handicap of 45 and has lowered it every year to its all time low, now at 25.
